This 'Anu' Sofa is a unique, handcrafted piece by Ayala Serfaty and the largest work in the 'Rapa' series to date. World-renowned for her ‘SOMA’ series (her "clouds"), Ayala Serfaty has developed since 2010 a collection of seats made of wool, linen and silk fibres which she carefully gathers from all over the world. Work by the artist is notably included in the permanent collections of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris as well as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Arts and Design in New York.
Anu is a unique, contemporary, handcrafted sofa created by internationally recognized designer Ayala Serfaty. Conceived as both a functional piece of furniture and a sculptural artwork, Anu embodies the philosophy of collectible design — where comfort, craftsmanship, and artistic expression converge.
Handmade using nuno felt, the sofa features a soft yet structured organic form inspired by natural landscapes and tactile surfaces. Its flowing, cloud-like silhouette invites the body while asserting a strong visual presence within a space, making it equally suited for private interiors, galleries, and curated design collections.
Anu is the largest work in Serfaty’s acclaimed “Papa” series, reflecting her long-standing exploration of fiber, material transformation, and emotional comfort through form. Each piece is entirely handmade, ensuring no two works are ever the same.
This sofa is offered as an original, one-of-a-kind artwork, positioning it firmly within the world of contemporary collectible design rather than mass-produced furniture.
